Designer Spotlight~Alice&Trixie

 One of our favorite lines we sell at Monkee’s has got to be Alice & Trixie. 

We have had some really incredible pieces from Alice and Trixie come in the store this month. Alice & Trixie is known for their incredible use of color, pattern, and shape to make each piece playful yet flattering.



Angela Taylor George, a native New Yorker, is the creator of Alice & Trixie. She went to FIT and also started working at one of NYC’s premiere boutiques where eventually she became the head buyer. As her career continued to take off, she became a designer’s agent, and launched many of the best brands of the nineties.  

 


With that resume, Angela then dove into the world of design, creating the Alice & Trixie label in 1997, named after the two heroines of the 1950′s sitcom, the Honeymooners.   One of the biggest draws for me as a buyer-the line is manufactured in NYC’s Garment District.  Angela blends inspiration from vintage fashion collections, art exhibits, style icons of years past, travel, film, pop culture, and interior design. The line is designed for the woman who is feminine and most of all, confident.

 
Alice & Trixie has a strong  following of celebrities, style bloggers, and many loyal shoppers internationally.   


The line is a dependable source for weddings, vacays, and events in Richmond as well as places far away.  It is sold in top department stores and specialty stores all over the world (like Monkee’s!).
